Grass Roots Skills & Scrimmages
Northern NH Soccer Club offers a Grassroots program that is a truly unique opportunity for young children to get involved in the game of soccer.
This 8 week program is offered each spring and fall, and is designed around player development at a young age, with the ultimate goal of building a foundation of basic skills and having fun while doing it.
Small-sided games and group activities will be used to introduce and test new motor skills and new ideas. Developmentally appropriate training sessions will allow our emerging talent the opportunity to master newly found concepts in a fun environment where experimentation and learning is supported and encouraged.
We call it the FUNdamentals!!
Northern New Hampshire Soccer Club recognizes this crucial time in player development. The more soccer they play, the better they will get.
Coach Jamie Killeen and his assistants run skills programs during the week for grassroots players on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at The Nick and at various local townships on Wednesday afternoons (Ossipee, Wolfeboro and Tamworth).
Weekends however are ALWAYS reserved for playing the game. Every week players are invited/encouraged to put all of what they learned together in a fun scrimmage against friendly opposition at the Nick in Wolfeboro NH.
Registered players can play up to 3 days a week with no attendance taken. If a player in the grassroots program finds they want to try their luck in a formal more competitive environment, especially those aged 9-11, then NNHSC offers a more competitive “Intro to Travel” program, which is the next level up from “Skills and Scrimmages”.
